Who doesn't want healthy glowing skin? It may be a cliché, but the simple truth is, you are what you eat and your skin shows what is going on inside your body. So if you want radiant, glowing and healthy skin you should eat a nutrient rich diet, full of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and vitamin rich foods. So here is our top 7 nutrient packed foods to eat. You will be rewarded with younger, healthier and glowing skin! It's worth the effort don't you think?

AVOCADO to hydrate skin

High in biotin, avocado's give you luscious hair, help prevent dry skin and brittle nails. The healthy monounsaturated fats in avocados make them one of the best foods for your complexion. These healthy fats keep skin from drying out and help to maintain its youthful appearance.

Spread some avo on your morning toast with a little squeeze of lemon juice and salt and pepper or pop some into your salad for that vitamin punch.

GREEN TEA for healthy skin

Not technically a food, but so important due to it's high levels of poly phenols, green tea is a wonderful tonic for healthy skin. Green tea is said to provide protection against sun damage by reducing free radicals and inflammation.

It's overall antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties make drinking this tea a must for healthy, glowing skin.

The lycopene is more easily absorbed when tomatoes are cooked, in a paste or in a soup or juice form.

Try a simple tomato and basil sauce over some wholemeal pasta.

SALMON for lustre and softness                                                                               

I'm sure you knew this was going to be on the list! Add lustre and softness to your skin with salmon, it has one of the highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. These healthy fats nourish the skin by reducing the body's production of inflammatory substances, decreasing clogged pores and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.  We love the sound of that.

Bake some Salmon with a coating of home made pesto made from crushed walnuts for an added boost of Omega 3, or keep it simple and just sprinkle with sea salt and pepper .
