Try tricking yourself into eating less food by using these three simple mind tricks and strip off the unwanted kilos...
1. Try serving up your food on a smaller plate
This way it looks like your portions are way bigger than they are and mentally you feel just a little bit fuller before you even start eating.
2. Drink 2 large glasses of water 10 minutes before you eat
It's quite possible you haven't drunk enough water yet today anyway so it will be good to hydrate, but drinking a couple of large glasses of water 10 minutes before you eat will mean you will fill up a lot faster and if you are they type of person who usually eats until they feel full this little trick will work wonders for you.
3. Wait 20 minutes after eating before going for in seconds
The food that you've just consumed will take a while to get down into the stomach and tell the brain that you've had enough food and you feel full before asking "Please sir....can I have some more?"
Waiting at least 20 minutes to see if you actually need seconds or not, allows the brain to register this and you will ultimately eat less.
I'm sure you've found before, when you're really hungry and then you scoff a whole bunch of food you feel like you're going to explode....right? In this case you've actually consumed too much food, too fast for the brain to register that it's had enough. Pace yourself and wait the 20 before filling up the plate again.
