Teaching Platinum Classes at Toowong and Matwork classes for Brisbane City Council.
What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?
To continually improve how I articulate instructions. I remember being told 'It's not their fault they don't understand, it's your instructions!' Always trying to improve how I explain concepts to clients.
What is the one fitness or health related item you can't live without right now?
A foam roller
What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?
Recruit the Glutes!
What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?
The New Workout Plan - Kanye West
What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?
Offering on the Reformer. I like to talk about what the clients are offering to me! Usually it's cheesecake. Plus I love the control and precision needed to execute this correctly.
How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?
I know how I feel when I don't get enough classes in a week. Little niggles pop up, injuries flare and I remember how important it is to make time for my own class!
What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?
Go to other instructors' classes. You pick up so many little tips and tricks.
What does 2017 hold in store for you?
My own Graphic Design study, lots of Pilates classes (teaching and doing!) and finishing the year with the best damn calves anyone has ever seen #maxsprings
