Physiotherapy & Rehab

Physiotherapist

Pilates is the way of the future for all physiotherapists, and more and more physiotherapists are realizing this and implementing it into their practices. Pilates gives you the potential to help your patients, earn more money and give your hands a rest at the same time.

With continuing new research, we are learning just how important the stability muscles are. We also know that we give patients home exercise programs, which they may or may not do, and they are often discharged before regaining their full strength and stability. By implementing Pilates into their program and using the equipment in your practice, you can ensure patients will get the best results and continue to see you for longer for a full rehabilitation and maintenance program. You can also take several patients at once, making it a very profitable addition to your practice.

Why choose us for your Pilates education?

The Studio Pilates International course is designed by a physiotherapist who has personally taken over 20 000 patients through Pilates workouts. Our aim is to get you ready to teach Pilates in the clinical environment straight away - so the course involves a lot of teaching practice to ensure you are confident to teach on completion of your course.

The course is exclusively for physiotherapists, and taught by a physiotherapist, and is one of the most comprehensive Pilates courses worldwide. It combines traditional Pilates exercises that have been adapted according to the latest physiotherapy research. Throughout the course, you will learn how to assess, prescribe and teach both matwork and equipment exercises in a clinical setting. There is also the option to continue on through full Pilates certification to learn how to teach advanced exercises required for fitness training or athlete programs.

How do we differ from other Pilates courses?

We differ to traditional Pilates courses because we have tailored our course specifically for physiotherapists, and relate each exercise to the clinical setting. We differ from other courses designed for physiotherapists in that we spend less time on theories which you all know, and more time learning exercises and how to instruct them properly. Our manuals give a step by step description in detail about every exercise, how to prescribe it, teach it, and make corrections. We also teach you how to take patients through a more intense workout once they progress past basic rehabilitation. This allows them to become globally strong and fit, and ensures they will stick with their Pilates program and continue on their journey to overall wellness.
