{"id":5927,"date":"2017-02-05T04:47:57","date_gmt":"2017-02-05T04:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.studiopilates.com\/education\/?p=5927"},"modified":"2018-01-18T04:36:09","modified_gmt":"2018-01-18T04:36:09","slug":"instructor-spotlight-ana-whale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.studiopilates.com\/education\/instructor-spotlight-ana-whale\/","title":{"rendered":"Instructor Spotlight: Ana Whale"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Courses Completed<\/h5>\n<p>Anatomy Course<br \/>\nMatwork Course<br \/>\nPilates for Pregnancy<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>How are you using your Pilates training?<\/h5>\n<p>I&#8217;m currently teaching Pilates (including pre-natal) as well as barre classes at a wonderful studio a few times a week (outside of working a full time corporate job).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?<\/h5>\n<p>Gaining the trust of my clients and building rapport with them &#8211; it&#8217;s so easy to want to doubt yourself and your abilities, but we have to remember to be patient and always continue to learn.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What is the one fitness or health related item you can&#8217;t live without right now?<\/h5>\n<p>I&#8217;m pretty addicted to my Fitbit Charge 2, even though it doesn&#8217;t track Pilates and Yoga effectively enough (much to my disappointment)!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What is your personal Pilates\/exercise philosophy?<\/h5>\n<p>Keep it simple and the challenges will come! More often than not the most effective exercises are those that aren&#8217;t difficult to set up or undetake but have enough depth in them to continually challenge us each and every time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?<\/h5>\n<p>I create playlists on Spotify for my classes that are timed to the classes I teach in duration and always include warm up and stretch tracks &#8211; it helps me keep track of the time as well as pace the workout appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?<\/h5>\n<p>The kneeling side leg series has always been a favourite of mine, I feel the target spots almost immediately and find it&#8217;s always a nice challenge for my clients!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?<\/h5>\n<p>This has been a tough one to balance, since I also work full time and teach outside of the 9-5. I make sure I take a lunchtime class at work where I can, it&#8217;s a treat to be a student and indulge in having someone else teach, as well as continue to develop my teaching skills by being in others&#8217; classes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?<\/h5>\n<p>Don&#8217;t stop learning and always be yourself.
