We live and breathe what we do, so you can get what you came here for.
Bones, our resident skeleton is used in our studios to help educate clients about the positive changes Pilates can make not only on muscle strength and tone, but on the whole skeletal system, and as a remedy for a wide range of injuries. Wherever in the world you visit us, you’ll find our wickedly welcoming ‘Bones’, who is there to remind us of the importance of taking care of our bodies each day.
Studio Pilates is a state-of-the-art, scientifically-based way of transforming your body in the quickest time possible. Our method of resistance training is developed by the most experienced physiotherapists and and educators within Studio Pilates, resulting in a workout that intensely targets and stimulates each muscle group and strengthens the whole body. Our unique choreography is sequenced and timed in a precise way. We do this from the inside out, working the smaller stabilising muscles before the larger ones, completely fatiguing particular muscle groups, to a point where the body is forced to adapt and get stronger, and undergo significant change. This is where our workouts excel.
Regardless of injuries or movement restrictions, the reformer provides plenty of options to adapt or switch up an an exercise. By setting the reformer springs at different resistance levels, with guidance from your instructor, the strength of targeted muscles in each exercise is challenged. Being able to adjust your own spring resistance means that the same exercise can provide benefits to the beginner all the way to the elite athlete just by changing the resistance levels of each exercise.
Studio Pilates classes include exercises that target both individual and multiple muscles, for a great total body workout.
Targeting individual muscles help strengthen the weaker parts of our bodies (usually due to our lifestyle), whilst the compound, or multi-muscle, exercises teach the different parts of the body to work in unison with each other. The combination of isolation and compound exercises develop a strong, well balanced and functional body. No muscle group is overtrained or undertrained.
A primary focus of our workouts is the targeting and isolation of deep core muscles, which we refer to as the T-Zone. Overall strength and conditioning of the T-Zone not only produces a strong abdomen and obliques, but the powerful stabilising muscles in the mid back, lower back, spine, chest and glutes.
Pilates has stood the testament of time, dating back to Joseph Pilates, almost one hundred years ago, who created a unique exercise methodology for the rehabilitation and training of injured soldiers, boxers and dancers. We’ve combined the very best of Joseph Pilates’ exercises with the very latest scientific research to develop a repertoire of exercises that are designed to provide maximum results.
Our belief is that you just have to workout smarter, not longer.
It’s about effort, intensity and consistency, not the length of time exercising. Studio Pilates is a super-efficient way to work out. In just 40 minutes, each high intensity class is delivering you incredible results.
