TURN RESOLUTIONS INTO RESULTS

The start of a new year can bring a sense of excitement, anticipation, and a release of what no longer serves us. It’s in this reflective state that we often look back at the last 365 days and uncover what worked, the goals we achieved and what we want to take on next.

Whether it’s hitting another milestone in our Pilates journey or completing a personal challenge we kept on the backburner, turning our New Year’s resolutions into tangible results can be an overwhelming feeling.

Want to make sure you stay on track without feeling stuck? Here are 5 easy tips to turn your New Year’s resolutions into results:

1 – Map it out. Whether it’s writing down your goals or creating a 2026 Vision Board, documenting your intentions ignites the spark. Start by reflecting (and celebrating if you haven’t yet), on what you accomplished in 2025. Ask yourself: What is relevant to my next chapter, and why does this matter to me in 2026?

The trick? Focus on goals YOU want to achieve, not what others expect of you. Map out 1-3 meaningful goals that are achievable and write down why this is important. For example, why is getting stronger or having more energy important this year? In order to have the stamina to go on long hikes or to take on a new sport? The possibilities are endless.

2 – Make it easy for yourself. January has a way of increasing self-imposed pressure. The energy is palpable. Don’t forget to breathe. Stretch. Enjoy that cup of coffee. However, once it’s time to go all in on your goals, you need to make this simple to execute. How?

If getting to morning classes is one of your goals, make it easy for yourself by getting ready the night prior. Lay out your workout gear, have your grip socks and shoes by the door, and curate an energising playlist for the walk or drive to the studio. These small steps make the journey smooth and fun!

3 – Stay on track by tracking your progress. A key reason why resolutions fall by the wayside is because we forget to see the progress we’ve already made. Keeping track of your journey keeps you accountable and motivated, especially on days where showing up is a struggle.

Whether it’s documenting through photos, or using digital tools and journals to track your fitness journey, looking at your progress and celebrating the small victories makes each day worthwhile.

4- Commit your energy to consistency. Motivation is fleeting, but real results are built through consistent, intentional action. Give your goals the attention they deserve by scheduling time where distractions are minimal. This will create momentum that’s dedicated to maximising results, turning your actions into healthy habits that last.

For example, when it comes to Pilates, showing up a few times a week in your most productive window can significantly strengthen your core, posture, stamina and more over time. When motivation takes a nosedive, your body and mind continue to pulse. Booking into your classes ahead of time will help you stay consistent too!

5 – Have an accountability buddy. Surrounding yourself with people and spaces that support your fitness journey can be an integral part of achieving your goals efficiently. Share your journey with a like-minded friend or individual whose energy feels safe and encouraging.

Whether it’s weekly checkins or celebrating each other’s progress along the way, an accountability buddy helps you stay focused and supported. On days when motivation dips, having someone in your corner can be the difference between skipping a class and showing up.

Have a friend or loved one who could be the ultimate accountability buddy?
