3 Ways To Succeed in a Franchise Business

Investing in a franchise business has many benefits including instant brand recognition, ongoing training and support, a proven track record of success and so much more - ask any of our Studio Pilates Franchisees and I’m sure they’ll agree. While there’s no denying the fact that buying a franchise is far more streamlined and straightforward than building a brand new business from the ground up (read more about that here), it’s still a lot of hard work but here are our top 3 ways to succeed in a franchise business.

Follow the process

While being a franchise business owner will give you a level of flexibility and autonomy, you’ll still be operating under an existing framework set in place by the franchisor. First and foremost, it’s important to remember that this framework was designed to help you succeed and was built off years of proven success. Following the processes put in place by the franchisor will help ensure your studio generates leads, improves client retention and maintain overall staff satisfaction.

Be willing to adapt

The one constant about being a business owner is that there’s no constant, so if you’re looking for a steady 9-5, then the franchise life might not be for you. While being your own boss does come with its advantages in terms of time management, things can change very quickly (as we’ve learnt over the last few years) including staffing, campaigns and general updates/changes in accordance with the franchisor, which can lead to overtime and weekend work. Being flexible enough to adapt and bounce back from these road bumps instead of resisting and refusing to find a way to adapt is what makes a successful franchisee.

Be passionate

We’ve all heard that quote “working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress, working hard for something we love is called passion,” and that’s true of owning a franchise. As a franchise owner you’re not only leading a team, but also a community that includes your clients and other local businesses and your energy and involvement in that is a pivotal part of the studios success.
