4 Reasons to Own a Studio Pilates Franchise

While Pilates is by no means a new form of exercise (in fact, it’s quite the opposite), the low impact, high intensity workout is continuing to rise in popularity, and with very good reason. Loved universally by everyone from celebrities and athletes right through to those rehabilitating from injury, you can barely scroll through social media without seeing a post about reformer Pilates (and we don’t blame them). For this reason, many have jumped on the bandwagon in a bid to profit from its popularity by opening a Pilates studio, but not all Pilates studios are created equally. So if you’re interested in opening a Pilates Studio, here are 4 reasons why you should invest in a Studio Pilates franchise.

  1. Fast return on investment

Over 50% of our Studio Pilates franchisees currently own more than one studio, thanks to the rapid payback period on their initial investments. Many of our franchisees find themselves cash-flow positive very early on, with many opting to reinvest by adding more studios to their portfolio, return money to shareholders or simply act as a safety buffer. Co-founders Jade & Tanya Winter designed the franchise model like this purposefully, knowing firsthand that the financial risk of the unknown is an issue that prevents many people from buying a business.

  2. No experience required

One of the biggest draw cards for investing in a Studio Pilates franchise is that there’s no prior business or fitness experience required. With no business experience prior to opening their very first Studio Pilates studio themselves, co-founders Jade and Tanya Winter worked tirelessly to create a turn-key franchise business model, providing owners with everything they need to succeed. This includes comprehensive training manuals covering HR, marketing and staff training, centralized accounting and bookkeeping and ongoing support from the support office team. For this reason, Studio Pilates has attracted franchisees from a diverse array of backgrounds, from Pilates instructors looking to turn their passion into profit right through to corporate CEO’s looking to expand their investment portfolios.

  3. Survived the global pandemic

The global pandemic wreaked havoc on the fitness industry, with many gyms forced to close under government directive, generating zero income for months on end. While many gyms were left with no other choice but to shut up shop permanently, not one Studio Pilates studio has ever had to close its doors due to financial hardship, and many studios managed to retain their clients and in turn revenue by pivoting and offering zoom/remote classes.

  4. Developed by physiotherapists

Studio Pilates was not only co-founded by a qualified physiotherapist, but all exercises and class programming is also developed by a team of physiotherapists, ensuring all classes are safe and effective for people of all ages and fitness levels. Not all Pilates studios share the same ethos as Studio Pilates, with some even making up exercises on the fly, putting their clients at risk of injury. For this reason, many physios feel comfortable referring their clients to Studio Pilates to help correct muscular imbalances or rehabilitate from injury.
