Why Mindful Movement Is A Trend That's Here To Stay

The concept of mindfulness has been around for a long time, and it’s practiced in so many different areas of our lives. You’ve probably heard of mindful eating but mindful exercise is also on the rise and it’s here to stay.

Mindful moment is any form of exercise that actively draws awareness to your body while engaging in movement. Practices like Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, Walking and Pilates are all examples of types of exercise that enhance your mind body connection and this type of low impact exercise has an abundance of health benefits that people can’t get enough of.

Over the last few years, Google has reported an increase in people searching terms including ‘mindful exercise’ and ‘mindful movement’, which is true testament to the attitude shift that’s recently happened around health and wellbeing. People are no longer looking at exercise purely for the physical benefits including weight loss and muscle gain, and instead they’re actively looking for things that can help improve their mental health and mindsets too, which became particularly apparent during the pandemic.

Unlike HIIT, which places a great deal of stress on the body by releasing hormones like cortisol, mindful movement is a really powerful practice particularly during stressful times by providing relief from a busy mind and forcing yourself to slow down and relieve feelings of stress and anxiety.

For this reason, if you’ve ever considered investing in a fitness franchise like Studio Pilates, it will give you more financial longevity than HIIT or other high impact based franchises.

Benefits of mindful movement:

  • Reduces feelings of stress and anxiety

  • Improves focus

  • Helps regulate mood

  • Improves concentration and mental clarity

  • Increases strength and overall fitness

  • Improves sleep

  • Solidifies a positive and sustainable relationship with exercise

  • Suitable for all ages and fitness levels
