Why did you decide to do the SP 30 Day Challenge? What was the trigger, the thing that motivated you to join the Studio Pilates 30 Day Challenge?
I decided to do the 30 Day Challenge as I really needed a change. I’d been inactive, depressed and really needed to make some changes. I had done Pilates before and found it energising, so I hoped that the 30 Day Challenge would give me the boost I needed.
What did you like best about the Challenge itself? Did you ever feel like giving up?
I loved the Challenge! The greatest part for me – and the least expected – was the support that my instructor, Pauline, gave me. She was with me the whole way – sometimes taking the classes, sometimes working out next to me! She pushed me when I needed it and supported me when I felt I was struggling. At no point did I feel like quitting, but with the help of Pauline I was able to work through the fog of self-doubt.
What was your biggest accomplishment from the Challenge?
My biggest accomplishment was energy! I feel so much stronger than I did before and can almost leap out of bed … I’ve since used this energy and motivation to increase my workouts both with the Studio and other high-intensity training that I never thought I could do before. I’m enjoying the exercise, whereas previously I’d always thought of it as a chore. Now I jump at the chance to get out the door to get active.
I’m a happier and more positive person for it!
What was your lifestyle and health like before starting at Studio Pilates?
Pretty ordinary. There are still a lot of things in my lifestyle that need changing – but this Challenge has given me the inspiration and motivation to make further changes.
What would you say to people who have never experienced Studio Pilates?
Just do it! (wait – isn’t that someone’s slogan?) 🙂
What words of encouragement would you give to people one week into their 30 Day Challenge?
It can seem hard – the hardest part for me was trying to find the time. But if you can commit and see it through, it will be worth it in the end.
What is your personal philosophy on eating and exercise now?
Exercise as much as I can! And I’m looking into healthier lifestyle options!
