Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Updated: 21 July 2020

  • Students must bring and wear a mask to all courses in Melbourne
  • Face to face courses are back up and running, with strict safety protocols in place (read below for more information)
  • The only exception is Reformer in Melbourne and Perth and Adelaide courses (our course facilitators fly into Perth and Adelaide)
  • We are still hoping to run Perth and Adelaide course dates, however this depends on our course facilitators’ ability to fly in at the time of the training. We will notify you 4 weeks out from the course if this is possible with current restrictions
  • All other scheduled courses will be going ahead at this time

COVID-19 Safety Protocols for Face to Face Training

In light of the recent coronavirus (COVID-19), your safety at Studio Pilates courses is our priority. At Studio Pilates International, we are regularly monitoring the Federal Government’s updates on the coronavirus and we are following the guidance of the Department of Health. While Studio Pilates International courses continue to operate as per normal, we have established a coronavirus management plan based on advice by the Australian Government’s Department of Health to ensure that you are able to safely attend the courses.

If you have a cold, cough, runny nose, temperature or sore throat

  • Unfortunately you will not be able to attend the face to face course. Studio Pilates International will offer a free course reschedule to a later course date with a doctor’s certificate. Please note that the doctor’s certificate must state that you have cold and/or flu symptoms that would be contagious.
  • Please note that if you come to the course with any of the above symptoms, you may be asked to leave and reschedule your course. Studio Pilates International will offer a free course reschedule to a later course date with a doctor’s certificate. Please note that the doctor’s certificate must state that you have cold and/or flu symptoms that would be contagious.

If you have travelled internationally (to any country) in the past 14 days  OR have been in close contact* someone who has travelled internationally in the past 14 days

  • Unfortunately you will not be able to attend the face to face course. Studio Pilates International will offer a free course reschedule when you send through proof of your travel.

*close contact is defined as being within 2 meters of the person for more than 15 minutes per day or touching items which may have been touched by the person

If you have been in contact with someone with a pending OR confirmed case of coronavirus in the past 14 days

  • Unfortunately you will not be able to attend the face to face course. Studio Pilates International will offer a free course reschedule to a later course date with a doctor’s certificate. Please note that the doctor’s certificate must state that you have come in contact with a known case of coronavirus.

Temperature checking

  • On face to face courses, each student will be temperature checked at the start of each day
  • If you have a temperature, you will need to reschedule your course date for the safety of all students

Equipment

  • For matwork based courses, you will need to bring your own mat and towel to the course
  • For reformer courses, students will either have access to their own reformer or will share 1 reformer amongst 2. Students should bring their own towel to place on the reformers. If 2 students are sharing a reformer, the equipment will be thoroughly disinfected with alcohol wipes before each student’s use. Students should bring their own towel and gloves to the course
  • For ball, circle and band courses, each student will be required to bring their own Pilates circle, resistance bands and swiss ball (approximately 55cm in diameter)
  • For wunda chair courses, one wunda chair will be limited to 2 students and the equipment will be thoroughly disinfected with alcohol before each student’s use, students should bring their own towel and gloves to the course
  • For cadillac courses, students will share the cadillac and all parts of the equipment will be disinfected with alcohol before each student’s use, students should bring their own towel and gloves to the course
  • For Platinum courses, students will be required to purchase their own non-slip mat on the first day of the course to avoid sharing this equipment. Students will either have access to their own reformer or will share 1 reformer amongst 2. Students should bring their own towel to place on the reformers. If 2 students are sharing a reformer, the equipment will be thoroughly disinfected with alcohol wipes before each student’s use. Students should bring their own towel and gloves to the course

Distancing protocols

  • On face to face courses, students will be 1.5 metres apart
  • Numbers in each course will be capped to allow a minimum of 4 square metres per student in the space
  • You will not be required to touch another student on the course

Other advice

  • Bring your own hand sanitiser to the course
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap, scrubbing firmly for at least 20 seconds
  • Feel free to bring gloves to the course (if it is your preference)
  • If it is your preference, you can wear a mask on the course, as long as the course facilitator can still hear you instruct clearly
  • As of the 23rd July, all Melbourne course participants are required to wear a mask for the entirety of the course
