Factors Which May Affect Your Training

There are a range of factors outside of your control which may affect your training. Please read below for more details on these varying factors.

Injuries

To participate in the face to face component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. You should always be guided by your health professional regarding your ability to perform exercise. If you are unsure if you are able to perform any of the repertoire due to injury, please call +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 and we can advise you of your options.

Pregnant Women

To participate in the face to face component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. For this reason, we advise pregnant women only complete the face to face components of the courses up until 14 weeks of pregnancy. After this time, most pregnant women are not able to perform a significant portion of the course repertoire.

Please note that this timeline may vary slight from course to course depending on the exercises contained in the course. If you are unsure if you are able to participate in a specific course due to pregnancy, please call +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 and we can advise you of your options.

If you experience any complications during your pregnancy, you should be guided by your health professional.

Post-Natal Women

To participate in the face to face component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. For this reason, we advise post-natal women to wait at least 6 weeks post birth before participating in the face to face components of the courses.

If you experience any complications from your pregnancy such as abdominal separation (Rectus Diastasis) or Pelvic Floor issues, you may need to wait longer than this and be guided by your health professional.

For breastfeeding mothers attending face to face courses, please note that you are not able to bring your baby into the course. However you can express during the course or meet your baby outside for feeding. Breaks for the course occur at set times and any feeding or expressing will need to occur during these set breaks. Unfortunately there are no specific facilities for feeding, expressing or storing milk at the course venues.

Learning Difficulties

The following are some useful tips when preparing for a course with learning difficulties –

  • Ensure that you book your face to face course date well in advance so that you have plenty of time to take your study slow and at your own pace
  • All of our courses have been created to cater for different learning styles and all courses combine audio, visual and kinaesthetic learning modalities – focus on the modality which helps you the best
  • If you are Dyslexic, rather than reading the course manual, focus on listening to the audio of the videos online and the sample class programs (if your course has these materials)
  • For all courses with an online training centre, you can view the practical assessment marking sheets and assessment tips videos in the online training centre
  • If you feel overwhelmed with your study at any point, we are here to help you prepare every step of the way –
    • You can call us on +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 to talk directly to our instructor support team
    • You can request additional one on one tutorials with a course facilitator at the rate of AUD$70 per hour
  • If you do not pass the online theory exams for your course, simply revise the course content and then resit the online exam when you feel ready
  • If you do not pass the practical course assessment, don’t panic as we have several options for students who require additional practise. To read more about video submission options or resitting the course, click here
English as a Second Language

The following are some useful tips if English is your second language –

  • You will be required to have a minimum IELTS level of 8
  • Ensure that you book your face to face course date well in advance so that you have plenty of time to take your study slow and at your own pace
  • Spend a majority of your study time listening to the cues used to instruct the exercises – you can do this by watching the sample class programs many times over (if your course has these) and the individual exercise videos
  • Practise reading the exercise cues out loud from the manual as many times as possible so that the words flow as you speak them
  • If you feel overwhelmed with your study at any point, we are here to help you prepare every step of the way –
    • You can call us on +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 to talk directly to our instructor support team
    • You can request additional one on one tutorials with a course facilitator at the rate of AUD$120 per hour
  • Sometimes students with English as a second language understand the exercises well but have difficulty in verbalising the exercise cues out loud when instructing – if you do not pass the practical assessment and require further practise, you can utilise a video submission option.
