The following terms and conditions apply to all Studio Pilates courses. By enrolling in a Studio Pilates course, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Please be aware that these terms and conditions are subject to change at any time.
Your safety at Studio Pilates courses is our priority. While Studio Pilates International courses continue to operate as per normal, we have established a coronavirus management plan based on advice by the Australian Government’s Department of Health to ensure that you are able to safely attend the courses.

Studio Pilates’ course materials and the Studio Pilates brand is copyright and protected by intellectual property law. Please note that by enrolling in a Studio Pilates course, you do not own the rights to any of Studio Pilates’ content and agree to not copy, distribute or share Studio Pilates’ intellectual property.
If enrolling in a course with online pre-course study, it is mandatory that you complete all of the study in full prior to attending the face to face component of the course. If you have not completed this study in full, you may be asked to reschedule your course dates at your own cost. Please refer to the course reschedules section for more information.
Without exception, Studio Pilates does not offer refunds for change of mind or circumstances. You are also unable to transfer your course to another person or another course.
If you decide to cancel your course due to change of mind or circumstance, you can –
For all courses (except the Platinum Course), your course registration is valid for 24 months from the date of enrolment. After which point, your course expires and you will need to re-enrol in the training to book into new practical training dates.
For information on how long you have to complete the Platinum Course, please refer to the section below called “Additional Terms Related to the Platinum Course Only”
When you log into your MyPortal, you will see your course dates listed right at the top of your screen. You will have a spot secured in these dates, so you will be expected to attend these specific dates. But in an emergency, if you can’t make your course dates, you can reschedule your course up to two (2) times, however there are fees to do this.
See below for flat rate reschedule fees –
If wanting to reschedule into an earlier course date at any time
Pay nothing to reschedule into an earlier course (assuming there are spots still available in the course).
Additional reschedule terms
You are able to reschedule your course, however, our courses may be updated with new content. Subsequently this may incur additional costs to upgrade to the new course material (this may include access to updated online course content and/or a new course manual).
If you do not reschedule prior to, or at the time of your course this will be considered a NO SHOW and you will forfeit the cost of your course.
Please be aware that the times on the website are a rough guide only as we work around the host location’s group fitness timetable and these are subject to change. We will contact you a few weeks prior to your course date to confirm the location and times, please allow from 8am-6.30pm each day until we confirm these with you.
Just so you know, you cannot miss any day of the course or arrive later/leave earlier as there is a lot of content to cover and we want to make sure you get the most out of the course and become an amazing and confident instructor!
On the practical course, your full attendance is one of the competencies for passing the training (in addition to your practical assessment). As such, you are not able to miss any part of the practical course (arrive late/leave early). We recommend keeping 8am-6.30pm free on each day of your practical course (to ensure you have the full day free). If you need to miss any part of a practical course, you will need to reschedule to the next available course date and pay the associated reschedule fee.
To participate in the face to face component of all courses you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. If you are unsure if you are able to perform any of the repertoire due to injury or pregnancy please call +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 and we can advise you of your options.
All Studio Pilates International courses involve both theory and practical examinations throughout the course. Both theory and practical exams must be passed in order to receive certification; this ensures we maintain the highest standard of instructors possible. Obviously, our aim is to help you as much as possible to be the best you can be. At the end of each course, there will be a practical exam. If you are going well but are just not quite ready to teach yet at the end of the course that’s okay – you can go home and practice and submit a video of yourself teaching for us to review once you feel confident. There is a fee of $100, and must be done within 90 days of your course date.
It is uncommon for this to happen, but if you fail the theory and practical exams and need a lot more study and practice, you will be required to resit the next available course and this will incur a resit fee. See below for fees for each course. We want you to succeed and are with you all the way. Prior to any course, reading the required materials and watching and doing the online home workout videos will help you to come into the course as well prepared as possible. Please follow the automated email prompts you will receive that will guide you through your pre-study materials.
If you are not confident to instruct at the end of your course, you may be asked to complete a video submission. To be eligible to submit a video submission, you must have attempted the assessment on your practical course. In this scenario, you can go home and practise your instructing and then submit a video of your instructing for $100. In rare cases, if you need more practice and technical knowledge, you may need to resit the whole course again.
Time Frame for Video Submissions
You have three (3) months to complete your video submission. If you fail to complete the submission within this timeframe, you will need to resit the course (paying the course resit price below) and pass the assessment in order to gain your certificate.
Video Submission Attempts
Any student required to submit a video will have the opportunity to complete 2x video submissions for each course. If Studio Pilates is unable to mark you as competent across the assessment criteria after two attempts, you will need to resit the course in full (paying the resit price below) and pass the assessment on the last day of training to gain your certificate.
Resitting the Course

Before enrolling in a Zoom course, you must check that you meet a number of requirements, including –
You must meet some minimum internet speed requirements to enrol in a Studio Pilates International Zoom course. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet these minimum internet speeds prior to enrolling in the course.
To complete any Studio Pilates International courses fully online via Zoom, you must have internet with a minimum speed of –
To test your internet speed –
If Your Internet Doesn’t Meet These Speed Requirements
If Your Internet Consistently Drops Out on the Course
If you meet the speed requirements above, however your internet consistently drops out on the course, you will be asked to leave the course and contact the Instructor Support team in order to reschedule to a face to face course date. If you can provide a copy of your speed test showing that your internet met the speed requirements, you will not be charged a reschedule fee to change your course dates. However if your internet did not meet the speed requirements and you dropped out consistently, you will be required to pay a reschedule fee to change to face to face course dates (see above for reschedule prices for each course).
Why is Internet Speed More Important on a Studio Pilates Zoom Course Compared to a Standard Zoom Call
Depending on the Zoom course you are enrolling in, you will need to have specific equipment on the training –
You will need a relatively new and up to date computer which you can use to download and access Zoom. Unfortunately you won’t be able to participate in the Zoom training via a mobile or tablet as the screen is just too small and you will be spending a lot of the course looking at your fellow students’ technique and correcting them, so it’s important to be able to have a large enough screen to see people clearly. The bigger your screen, the better.
You will also need to have wireless headphones with a microphone as these can make it much easier for your fellow course participants to hear you as you perform the exercises. Wireless headphones are essential because you can get up and down off the mat (or reformer) easily and perform exercises without being connected to your computer. We recommend testing your wireless headphones thoroughly with your computer before the Zoom course to ensure that they connect easily via bluetooth.
You will need access to a quiet, private room for the duration of the course where you can learn and participate uninterrupted from children or pets. A big part of the course is other students needing to see your body clearly, so please take the time to ensure that your space has enough light. If it is a bit dark, we recommend grabbing a bedside lamp (or similar) to make your space lighter for other students to see you clearly.
If Your Home Environment is Not Conducive to Either Your or Other Students’ Learning
As mentioned, it is essential for students to be able to see your body clearly and hear you clearly throughout the course. Occasionally a home environment may not be conducive to either your own or other students’ learning on the course. Here are some examples of scenarios which would not be conducive to learning –
In a scenario where your home environment is not conducive to either your or other students’ learning, you may be asked to leave the course and the Instructor Support team will contact you on the next business day to help you to reschedule to the next available face to face course date. You will be charged a reschedule fee in this scenario.
Upon completion of each course and passing the required examinations, you will be certified to teach the exercises learned in that course.
To date, Studio Pilates International has neither recommended nor dissuaded its graduates from seeking additional certification beyond their Studio Pilates certification – a certification that is highly regarded within the health and fitness fields. Studio Pilates stands behind its training and certification programs as the highest calibre and most comprehensive of its kind in the industry. To achieve Studio Pilates certification, students must receive a minimum score of 80% (practical and written) in order to pass. Pass marks in both the practical and theory sections must be met in order to achieve certification.
As it stands at the moment, there is no need to be accredited with anyone other than Studio Pilates, and there are so many “accrediting bodies” such as APMA, Pilates Alliance, PMA etc. The main reason behind accreditation is for insurance purposes which you can receive after completing our courses. Studio Pilates will continue to evaluate the various accreditation processes and to monitor the evolving needs and demands of consumers and the professional fitness industry.
For information regarding Pilates instructor insurance, please click here.

Studio Pilates is committed to the safety of its students and clients and has a duty of care to provide a safe learning environment. Students have a reciprocal duty of care for their own safety and the safety of their fellow students and any clients that they interact with throughout their training. To that end, Studio Pilates recognises that persons under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol can have an impact upon the health, safety and decision making capability of students.
If it is suspected that a student is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, the student will be asked to leave the course for the safety of other students.
By enrolling in Studio Pilates courses, you agree to receive ongoing email and text message communication from Studio Pilates International. You will be sent text messages and emails regarding the following –
You can opt out of these messages at any time by replying with OPT OUT.
All Studio Pilates courses involve an online learning component. As such, students must have access to a computer, phone or tablet to perform online study.
We recommend completing the online tests on a computer (for ease of seeing the questions), but these can be completed on a phone or tablet if you choose. Some test question types (such as questions where you match two items by dragging and dropping) may work better on computers with a mouse. We do not recommend using touch screens or computer “pens” to complete the exams.
If you are having issues completing the online exams due to your specific computer type, Studio Pilates is able to send you these exams in a different format.
Most of Studio Pilates’ courses contain a comprehensive Online Training Centre which is used to learn online content prior to a face to face course. When you enrol in a course, you receive ongoing access to this Online Training Centre until a major update occurs.*
When a major update to an Online Training Centre occurs, you would have the option to upgrade to the revised resources for a small fee to maintain access. Please note that while Studio Pilates constantly updates small details on the Online Training Centres, you would only be required to upgrade your access when major changes are made. If you chose not to upgrade at this time, your Online Training Centre access would be revoked. However you would have the option to upgrade in the future at any point.
*Please note that ongoing course access does not apply to the Platinum Instructing Course. Please see the “Additional Terms Related to the Platinum Course Only” section below for more information on ongoing access to the Platinum Course content.
Throughout the face to face course, you will be practising your instructing on real human bodies. In order to ensure everyone’s safety, there are some physical prerequisites which are required. You must –
To participate in the practical component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. For this reason, we advise pregnant women only complete the practical component of the courses up until 14 weeks of pregnancy. After this time, most pregnant women are not able to perform a significant portion of the course repertoire.
Please note that this timeline may vary slight from course to course depending on the exercises contained in the course. If you are unsure if you are able to participate in a specific course due to pregnancy, please call +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 and we can advise you of your options.
If you experience any complications during your pregnancy, you should be guided by your health professional.
To participate in the face to face component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. For this reason, we advise post-natal women to wait at least 6 weeks post birth before participating in the face to face components of the courses.
If you experience any complications from your pregnancy such as abdominal separation (Rectus Diastasis) or Pelvic Floor issues, you may need to wait longer than this and be guided by your health professional.
For breastfeeding mothers attending face to face courses, please note that you are not able to bring your baby into the course. However you can express during the course or meet your baby outside for feeding. Breaks for the course occur at set times and any feeding or expressing will need to occur during these set breaks. Unfortunately there are no specific facilities for feeding, expressing or storing milk at the course venues.
To participate in the face to face component of all courses, you must be able to physically complete a minimum of 3/4 of the course repertoire. You should always be guided by your health professional regarding your ability to perform exercise. If you are unsure if you are able to perform any of the repertoire due to injury, please call +61422023222 or 0422 023 222 and we can advise you of your options.
