What has been your favourite Studio Pilates course to complete?
All of the courses I did definitely helped me over the years and remain relevant to [all] walks of life.
How have you been using your Pilates skills since completing your instructor training?
I have been running a small studio doing various class and Pilates is on of the top classes.
What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?
Being an instructor for about 15 years & as a Pilates instructor since 2015, I will have to make sure that the classes do not loose [their] spark.
What is the one health or fitness related item that you can’t live without right now?
It definitely has to be the foam roller, not only for Pilates but also the fact that I’m doing different classes everyday. This body needs lots a TLC
What is your personal Pilates or exercise philosophy?
I’m 40 with 2 young kids, the only way to not start over again is to never quit. Fitness & health is not something you start & stop when you think you need it. But it’s like the food we eat. It’s a necessity.
What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?
The ladies in the studio know even with a slow & relaxing song, I’ll get them working as hard as a 120-140bpm song.
What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?
Lots [of] postural work as everybody is working from home. The first thing before start of class, the usual questions are if there are any issues or pain. Almost all answers are shoulders & back pain.
How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?
I always practice about 20 mins before starting any classes. I believe that we should always be able to do what we instruct, as many reps as we instruct.
What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?
To always ensure that our clients know we are there for them even if we are doing virtual.
