How are you using your Pilates training?
To help educate how important it is to work the body as a whole. I teach men, women, children, the elderly and the injured.
What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?
Getting people to see the full benefits of Pilates. And to be patient.
What is the one fitness or health related item you can’t live without right now?
The outdoors. I cannot be inside for too long.
What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?
If it feels easy then you must not be doing it right.
What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?
I use Pandora. The one station that my clients love is “Tropical House.”
What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?
The Side Lying Glute Series, I feel they are the most effective Glute workout.
How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?
Amongst looking after two kids, a clothing company and being on call to my clients 24/7, I try to alllow 1 hour each day to have my Pilates time.
What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?
Don’t try and please everyone. You as an instructor have your own personal way of teaching. Own it!
What does the rest of the year hold in store for you?
I want to set up my own health and Pilates clinic.
