STUDIO PILATES COURSES COMPLETED

Matwork Course
Small Ball Course

I have completed studio Pilates Matwork Course, as well as completing the Small Ball Course, which was so helpful to add to my personal practise and add a little spice to my classes!

I am trained in other apparatus from different companies but love the way Studio Pilates deliver courses.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE STUDIO PILATES COURSE TO COMPLETE?

Matwork for sure

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN USING YOUR PILATES SKILLS SINCE COMPLETING YOUR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING?

Yes! I am an instructor in a beautiful little studio called Belle Movement on the Central Coast! I teach group and private classes and love every second (even the early morning alarms)

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE AS A PILATES INSTRUCTOR?

Stepping out of my comfort zone and backing myself. I tend to get a bit of imposter syndrome- which I’m sure you all have had time to time- but just knowing I have done the work and having the confidence to deliver it.

HOW HAS COVID-19 CHANGED HOW YOU INSTRUCT?

We have done it allll through lockdowns, we have done Zoom classes which is super different, outdoor classes and privates which I’ve really enjoyed in this spring weather, and we filmed classes for our online hub- which I was super awkward at the start but in the end I loved doing them.

WHAT IS THE ONE HEALTH OR FITNESS RELATED ITEM THAT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT RIGHT NOW?

My Pilates Mat and Pilates grip socks from MoveActive.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL PILATES OR EXERCISE PHILOSOPHY?

To do the movements that make you feel good! You don’t have to be the best, fanciest or “leanest” Pilates princess to do Pilates. Have fun, enjoy those spicy Glute sets cause it makes you feel good!

WHAT SONG OR PLAYLIST IS KEEPING YOU AND YOUR CLIENTS MOTIVATED IN CLASS RIGHT NOW?

The mood lifter by Zoe Foster Blake on Spotify, it has so many bangers and such a nice mix of fun and chill to keep me going.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EXERCISE TO INSTRUCT RIGHT NOW AND WHY?

Side Lying Glutes (literally any exercise in that series) [from the Matwork Course] cause it does not matter how many times you do it, you will always feel that sizzle.

Clam 1 (Feet Down) from the Matwork Side Lying Series

HOW DO YOU PRIORITISE OR FIND TIME FOR YOUR OWN PILATES PRACTICE?

I find that lockdown has actually made me prioritise my practise a lot more.

I don’t do long workouts when I do my own practise, so it’s easy to find 20-30 minutes to exercise.

WHAT IS THE GREATEST TIP YOU COULD GIVE ANOTHER PILATES INSTRUCTOR?

Just get out there and do it. Back yourself completely even if you fake the confidence it will come naturally eventually. We all started as nervous lil wrecks so gotta get out there and get it done. My other tip is to do as many different classes from different instructors as possible, you’ll learn so much from others which will help so much in developing your own teaching style.
