How are you using your Pilates training?

Running my own Pilates studio, The Swedish Pilates Studio

What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?

Being a Pilates Instructor, administrator, director and doing everything by myself in the Studio. I LOVE Pilates and I know the enormous benefits that it has on the body and how you can change and heal your body with Pilates, but it’s not easy to reach everyone and be able to let them know about the beautiful Pilates story. It also bothers me when I have new clients (and even students from other Pilates schools) coming in and have no idea of the concentration points of Pilates. I cannot highly recommend Studio Pilates’ way of teaching enough, from making sure we are fully trained in the anatomy we need to know for every single exercise to making sure that we execute all exercises right. And keeping all the instructors on top with the quarterly training.

What is the one fitness or health related item you can’t live without right now?

Wow how can you choose one??? It probably has to be the mat.

What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?

Never stop, you are never too young or too old to exercise, and you will never feel better than when you exercise on regular basis.

What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?

Spotify.

What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?

Hundreds, you can have so many different levels and the clients get such a kick from the feeling that they can do them.

How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?

I always write my exercise schedule in my dairy and just make it part of my weekly routine which I can’t cancel.

What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?

Clients first, make Pilates fun and never let your own training go. The better you are at your exercises, the better and easier it will be to see and make sure your clients are working well and having fun.

What does the rest of the year hold in store for you?

Taking my studio to the next level and employ a Studio Pilates trained instructor.
