How are you using your Pilates training?

I’m currently teaching Mat based Pilates classes in a number of gyms in Townsville and also my own outdoor Yoga and Pilates business ๐Ÿ™‚

 

What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?

Trying to encourage more men to come to Pilates class – that it’s not just ‘a girl thing’ haha!

 

What is the one fitness or health related item you can’t live without right now?

My water bottle – wet season in North Queensland equals hot temperatures and high humidity – water is definitely my best friend this time of year!

 

What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?

Just 15 minutes a day is all it takes – who doesn’t have 15 minutes for health and wellbeing?

 

What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?

Someday by Black Eyed Peas – love it!

 

What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?

Planks – they are just awesome!

 

How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?

Start the day and end of day with just 15 minutes of movement followed by 15 minutes of mindfulness meditation.

 

What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?

Be yourself!

 

What does the rest of the year hold in store for you?

I’d love to do a Mat based circuit class with the small equipment – there’s just so much variety with the Pilates exercises – there is always something new to try!
