How are you using your Pilates training?

I started my own business called ‘Mountains Pilates’ in the Blue Mountains. I have built it up to 70 clients in 18 months and we are still quickly growing!

What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?

To relax and enjoy success – it is all happening much bigger and better than I dared to dream.

What is the one fitness or health related item you can’t live without right now?

My Blaze Fitbit! I love seeing the numbers grow each day and week and helping me stay on track for my own personal fitness goals.

What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?

I often like to say we are improving posture one vertebrae at a time, and also that our class makes the best bums in the mountains!

What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?

Oh definitely Deuter is a favourite and also I use Pandora’s New Age Ambient Radio station

What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?

My favourite is all levels of the Clam! It gets great results and helping people learn quickly how to activate their Glutes is always rewarding.

How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?

I have a full time job and instruct classes on weekends. So during the week, I am looking to balance my cardio workouts with two of my own Pilates workouts so I can come into class feeling and looking great to inspire others.

What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?

Well one of my clients who has been coming for over a year just also became a Studio Pilates trained instructor! So I have partnered with Jo to help build the business further. My tip is to bring your own style to the classes and really focus on how you make each person feel. They will always return because you helped to make them feel good – sometimes it might be the only hour in the week that they really enjoy focussing on their own body and needs.

What does the rest of the year hold in store for you?

Exciting! We are starting two new classes with our new second Studio Pilates graduate!
