How are you using your Pilates training?
I have instructed at gyms and Pilates centres in Melbourne and Copenhagen and now living in Oslo where I instruct at Elixia (the biggest fitness centre in Norway)
What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?
To adapt the classes to suit the country and city I have instructed in.
What is the one fitness or health related item you can’t live without right now?
I really don’t have one item that I depend on. The beauty about Pilates is that it does not require any equipment. You can do it anywhere you are, something that makes it so easy to fit it into your daily routine.
What is your personal Pilates/exercise philosophy?
As long as you want something bad enough and work hard to achieve it, you have the ability to make it happen.
What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?
Mercy – Loote Remix. Shawn Mendes.
What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?
Ahh it is so many but at the moment. I am obsessed with a twisted-side boat Oblique exercise. It always makes me so sore the next day.
How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?
Pilates is so easy to fit into your daily life because you can do it everywhere. I am a morning person and like to get my workout in in the morning. I always say to myself “something is better than nothing” so some days I only do a 15 minute workout and I’m happy with that.
What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?
Use your classes to teach and correct, not to train yorself. Enjoy what you do and have fun!
What does the rest of the year hold in store for you?
I like to challenge myself and this year my goal is to get certified as a Yoga instructor.
