What has been your favourite Studio Pilates course to complete?

Reformer, learning exercises and how to apply with extra load and resistance was very interesting.

 

How have you been using your Pilates skills since completing your instructor training?

Instructing in Pilates businesses and setting up my own business (classes and privates).

 

What has been your greatest challenge as a Pilates instructor?

Understanding how each body is different and how to respond to other health concerns, conditions which impact the lesson plan/programming and require on the spot adjusting/change. Establishing a business with many changes in COVID regulations/restrictions.

 

How has COVID-19 changed how you instruct?

Zoom classes, learning how to instruct online with mirroring people and giving extra cues/technique tips and advise on how clients can set up for class so you can actually see them.

 

What is the one health or fitness related item that you can’t live without right now?

Benefit of Pilates to give an intense workout even without equipment and or mixing it into your  functional/HIIT classes if you want to add more cardio.

 

What is your personal Pilates or exercise philosophy?

Do what makes you feel good day by day. Breathe and be.

 

What song or playlist is keeping you and your clients motivated in class right now?

Shivers – Ed Sheeran good for intense power Pilates class.

 

What is your favourite exercise to instruct right now and why?

Hundreds always. Intense and good for building clients endurance to maintain curl throughout the entire period of time.  And gauge how they have become stronger overtime.

How do you prioritise or find time for your own Pilates practice?

Give myself my own time between classes to work on something new or areas I need to work on.

 

What is the greatest tip you could give another Pilates instructor?

You will constantly learn something new as a teacher and within your own practise every day. But seeing the results overtime are quite impressive.
